OKAY, I know that we are in uncharted territory, but hear me out, Fashion Month has over 250 shows and presentation (and I just sucked that number out of my ass) Do you think we can just continue with our lives and act like I don’t have a lot to talk about?
Anyway, I wanna do this doggystyle. Lots of reviews, dirty and big and bad. (That didn’t make ANY sense but IT IS WHAT IT IS)
LOEWE
JW Anderson is a kook. He’s a weirdo but that’s how I know he’s a pig bottom. Yo have to take it up the ass in order to come up with ideas like this. Jonathan doesn’t do show notes. What you see is what you can try your best to decode. In a backstage interview, Anderson talks about his interest in daywear of late. You can see it in his perverse twist of an oxford blazer. If you ever wanted to know what Jonathan wants his English professor to look like, see high waisted trouser and blazer look
Loewe always has lovely knits and this time, you can’t use your arms if you want to wear them. It’s casual absurdism at its finest. Dirty clothes seem to be the trend (see my takedown of MGC) I just don’t know hey. It feels lost here. I know he did them better than her but, why? Do we have a green thumb? (namely the giant floral jewel tops) The ruffle skirts feel like we have toilet paper stuck to my hoo-ha.
This collection feels like a whisper by JW. It almost is like he’s opening up and making clothing he would wear. Interesting
Rapid Runway Rundown
Courregés
Why Am I here?
Balmain
Florals? For Spring? (Ha ha the joke was funny and shame you had to concoct these clothes in half a second but like, meh?)
Moschino
Let’s let the designer, design and let the stylist style. OOF naur. Loved the runway show though. LOTS OF FUN
Fendi
Wasn’t Terrible? Like I had to check my temperature twice to make sure I wasn’t sick or anything. I even had to make sure I didn’t forget to take my meds. Hmm… well done Kim?
David Koma
Clothes were nice. I liked them. Some were super stellar. You know your customer and you do it well.
Di Petsa
Wow. Interesting. People aren’t making terrible decisions. Or maybe I’m being too kind. It wasn’t… terrible.
Mowalola
I think, I wanted to talk about this because of the controversy and honestly, I wanted to investigate a little deeper into the machinations of the brand since it fell into the trap of wanting to be like Konnie (Kanye West)
Looking at her previous work, I am a fan. It has influenced a whole wave of fashion by being central to culture. I can see why she was tapped as the design director of Yeezy Gap (powered by Demna) It’s just wild to see work that can be witty, sexy, intelligent and powerful, become lazy.
She should be where Dion Lee is in terms of the market and the audience. She has some fun ideas, I was bored because it feels like Demna by way of Martine Rose but rudimentary. The clothing felt unnecessarily sexy. Like it was using the adventurous cuts to distract. I didn’t like the chap skirt the first time, why is it back? Some of the ideas like the skirt with the upstretching side panels were interesting.
Bored.
And they you had to drum up controversy for what? To show them this collection?
Shem. I tried
So ends fashion month. I just flew back and boy are my arms tired. I am very excited to see what you guys think and really start looking at more fun stuff. I know I still owe you Shanghai content. I might look at that and Lagos and give you a best and worst moment. I hope you are enjoying what we are serving here at the TGCU. Remember to tell your friends
Have a great day, and remember to celebrate, holiday (whatever those Madonna lyrics are)
Loves it,
