What is this?
The THAT’S GOSSIP CINEMATIC UNIVERSE was created by Ulindelwe Ratsibe in order to write whatever they want, when they want and how they want. You can trace its origins to “This is Not a Music Blog” in 2019. This was a blog where I would use my background in Music Theory to review music of the zeitgeist. From this seedling, Maison NMB would flower. Maison NMB was my instagram fashion era where I would use social media to talk about international and South African Fashion. In this period, I grew an audience of people whilst simultaneously taking further steps into the fashion industry. I started working as a stylist and also started focusing on my Fashion Writing with bylines in Twyg Magazine, Mail and Guardian and the Sunday Times.
“WHY SHOULD I CARE?”
I started this for 2 reasons.
Reason number 1: I have dreamt of pioneering my own content and creating a platform that is South African and International at the same time. This starts with Just me (it’s me, him I’m the problem it’s me) I think the fashion media landscape is changing across the world and somehow we are still stuck to this outdated model of relying on bylines and chess to survive. IT ISN’T WORKING. However, we are trapped in this world where they pay us.
I think independent fashion media is where we get some of the best content. Look at Style Zeitgeist or Nataal. Dazed and i-D were the pioneers. Bubblegum Club, Front Row Media, CECZA.
